Its a nice looking place with a great outside area and views across the bay. That said, I've been here twice now and both times the service has been very poor. The last time, to be fair, the young waitresses were fine but the older lady was rude and a little bit strange.
The smells from the kitchen were great but the food was actually disappointing.

Not very friendly no prices on cakes, menus put on floor to sort them out But not cleaned after put them back in rack .trolley in front of door to outside seating.

Food was lovely. Staff were great with our big hairy labradoodle and made a fuss of him and brought him his own huge tray of chopped up ham.

Two of us went here mid afternoon on a weekday, the place was less than half full. The lady server asked us to take a seat without barely looking at us - not very welcoming. We sat at a table for quite some time with no menu while tables around us were cleared. After a further wait, we decided to leave. This was very disappointing as Ropes was recommended to us by friends.

Good place to eat. Even though it was heavy rain today the outside balcony was great. No dogs are allowed inside but the outside location was great. There was only us on the outside balcony but it was great.
Good beer and good food. The Haggis bonbons were amazing. Highly recommend these.

Lovely little afternoon pitstop at ropes. Basic food menu but was a nice sandwich. We sat outside which was lovely as was quite a warm afternoon. Pizzas looked lovely. Also it’s dog friendly outside. Toilets can be used for by everyone, you don’t have to be a customer. Setting is just beautiful

Great afternoon sitting on the balcony looking across the water and the hills to our right. Weather was good service really warm and friendly. Been here many times and never let's you down. Menu not extensive but what they serve very good. Dog friendly big plus for us, don't know why more people allow this. Great Walks close by and a nice beach...

Great cafe/ bar that is licensed. The seating area is quite small inside, but outside, there are more tables with lovely views of the sea. The food is excellent, as is the staff who are friendly and efficient. Very reasonably priced. Well worth a visit if in the Maidens area.

Very cosy little place, a converted public convenience apparently, or so we were told by a local on the way there! We stopped in for a few beers on our way to Ayr. Not a great beer selection, very friendly a helpful staff.

It was a horrible wet and windy day and we need to get out inside. That’s when we stumbled across Ropes bistro, what a lovely place to step into. Instantly, you were greeted by a nice friendly face, shown to a seat, and given a menu. All of us had drinks and it’s of us commented on how nice

Great place, small but lots outdoor since with Amazing views. We were served by Chloe
We each had a panini and a drink , very tasty great price.
Would highly recommend for the friendly welcome , great food and excellent views even on a rainy day.
We will be back on our next trip
